Mercedes-Benz India Petrol Models Are Now E25-Ready

Mercedes-Benz India has announced that all its petrol vehicles sold in the country since January 2026 are compatible with E25 (25% ethanol-blended) petrol, making it one of the first luxury carmakers in India to prepare its entire petrol portfolio for higher ethanol blends. The move comes ahead of any future regulatory requirement and builds on the company’s earlier transition to E20-compatible vehicles.

The announcement follows the introduction of Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) specifications for higher ethanol blends such as E22, E25, E27 and E30. Mercedes-Benz said the update ensures its customers are prepared for future fuel standards while maintaining performance, reliability and emissions compliance.

The company, however, reiterated that any nationwide transition beyond E20 should be implemented gradually. Mercedes-Benz has urged policymakers to ensure consistent fuel quality, provide adequate lead time for manufacturers and consider the large number of older vehicles on Indian roads that were not designed for higher ethanol blends.

Mercedes-Benz continues to follow a multi-powertrain strategy in India, offering petrol, diesel, plug-in hybrid and electric vehicles as it prepares for the country’s evolving mobility landscape.

ಮರ್ಸಿಡೀಸ್-ಬೆನ್ಜ್ ಇಂಡಿಯಾ 2026ರ ಜನವರಿಯಿಂದ ಭಾರತದಲ್ಲಿ ಮಾರಾಟವಾಗಿರುವ ತನ್ನ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಪೆಟ್ರೋಲ್ ವಾಹನಗಳು E25 (25% ಎಥನಾಲ್ ಮಿಶ್ರಿತ ಪೆಟ್ರೋಲ್) ಇಂಧನಕ್ಕೆ ಹೊಂದಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವಂತೆ ವಿನ್ಯಾಸಗೊಳಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ ಎಂದು ಘೋಷಿಸಿದೆ. ಇದರಿಂದ ಭಾರತದಲ್ಲಿ ಸಂಪೂರ್ಣ ಪೆಟ್ರೋಲ್ ಮಾದರಿಗಳ ಶ್ರೇಣಿಯನ್ನು E25-ಸಿದ್ಧಗೊಳಿಸಿದ ಮೊದಲ ಐಷಾರಾಮಿ ಕಾರು ತಯಾರಕರಲ್ಲಿ ಒಂದಾಗಿ ಕಂಪನಿ ಹೊರಹೊಮ್ಮಿದೆ. ಇದು ಭವಿಷ್ಯದ ನಿಯಮಾವಳಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಮುಂಚಿತವಾಗಿ ಕೈಗೊಂಡ ಕ್ರಮವಾಗಿದ್ದು, ಈ ಹಿಂದೆ E20-ಹೊಂದಾಣಿಕೆಯ ವಾಹನಗಳಿಗೆ ಕಂಪನಿಯು ಮಾಡಿದ ಪರಿವರ್ತನೆಯ ಮುಂದುವರಿಕೆಯಾಗಿದೆ.

ಇತ್ತೀಚೆಗೆ ಭಾರತೀಯ ಮಾನದಂಡಗಳ ಬ್ಯೂರೋ (BIS) E22, E25, E27 ಹಾಗೂ E30 ಎಥನಾಲ್ ಮಿಶ್ರಿತ ಇಂಧನಗಳಿಗೆ ಹೊಸ ಮಾನದಂಡಗಳನ್ನು ಪ್ರಕಟಿಸಿದೆ. ಈ ಬೆಳವಣಿಗೆಯನ್ನು ಗಮನದಲ್ಲಿಟ್ಟುಕೊಂಡು, ಭವಿಷ್ಯದ ಇಂಧನ ಮಾನದಂಡಗಳಿಗೆ ತನ್ನ ಗ್ರಾಹಕರು ಸಿದ್ಧರಾಗುವಂತೆ ಮಾಡುವುದರ ಜೊತೆಗೆ ವಾಹನಗಳ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ಷಮತೆ, ವಿಶ್ವಾಸಾರ್ಹತೆ ಹಾಗೂ ಮಾಲಿನ್ಯ ನಿಯಂತ್ರಣ ಮಾನದಂಡಗಳನ್ನು ಕಾಪಾಡಲಾಗುತ್ತದೆ ಎಂದು ಮರ್ಸಿಡೀಸ್-ಬೆನ್ಜ್ ತಿಳಿಸಿದೆ.

ಆದಾಗ್ಯೂ, E20ಕ್ಕಿಂತ ಹೆಚ್ಚಿನ ಎಥನಾಲ್ ಮಿಶ್ರಿತ ಇಂಧನವನ್ನು ದೇಶಾದ್ಯಂತ ಜಾರಿಗೆ ತರುವಾಗ ಹಂತ ಹಂತವಾಗಿ ಅನುಷ್ಠಾನಗೊಳಿಸಬೇಕು ಎಂದು ಕಂಪನಿ ಅಭಿಪ್ರಾಯಪಟ್ಟಿದೆ. ಇಂಧನದ ಗುಣಮಟ್ಟದಲ್ಲಿ ಏಕರೂಪತೆ, ವಾಹನ ತಯಾರಕರಿಗೆ ಸಮರ್ಪಕ ಸಮಯ ಹಾಗೂ ಹೆಚ್ಚಿನ ಎಥನಾಲ್ ಮಿಶ್ರಣಕ್ಕೆ ವಿನ್ಯಾಸಗೊಳಿಸದ ಹಳೆಯ ವಾಹನಗಳನ್ನು ಪರಿಗಣಿಸುವಂತೆ ಮರ್ಸಿಡೀಸ್-ಬೆನ್ಜ್ ನೀತಿನಿರ್ಧಾರಕರಿಗೆ ಮನವಿ ಮಾಡಿದೆ.
