Mercedes-Benz India has confirmed that all petrol vehicles sold since January 2026 are E25-ready, supporting 25% ethanol-blended petrol. The move prepares customers for future fuel standards while ensuring performance, reliability and emissions compliance.

Maruti Suzuki has launched the Wagon R Flex Fuel at ₹7.24 lakh, making it India’s first mass-market passenger car capable of running on ethanol blends up to E85. The launch marks a significant step in India’s alternative fuel journey, supporting reduced oil imports, lower emissions, and greater use of domestically produced ethanol. However, the success of flex-fuel vehicles will depend on E85 fuel availability, pricing, and real-world operating costs.
