Maruti Suzuki has launched the Wagon R Flex Fuel at ₹7.24 lakh, making it India’s first mass-market passenger car capable of running on ethanol blends up to E85. The launch marks a significant step in India’s alternative fuel journey, supporting reduced oil imports, lower emissions, and greater use of domestically produced ethanol. However, the success of flex-fuel vehicles will depend on E85 fuel availability, pricing, and real-world operating costs.
