Passenger Vehicle Sales Hit Record High in July 2026

India’s passenger vehicle (PV) industry achieved its strongest-ever monthly performance (YOY) in July 2026, reflecting robust consumer demand, improved affordability following GST reductions (Sep2025) and a steady pipeline of new vehicle launches. Total passenger vehicle dispatches crossed 4.69 lakh units, marking an impressive 34% year-on-year growth and setting a new monthly industry record.

Maruti Suzuki retained its dominant position with 2,00,123 units, becoming the first manufacturer in India to cross the 2 lakh domestic passenger vehicle sales milestone in a single month. The company’s broad product portfolio, including hatchbacks, SUVs and CNG models, continued to attract strong customer demand.

Tata Motors secured second place with 63,760 units, registering the highest growth among the leading manufacturers at 59% year-on-year. The company also reported that its electric vehicle sales more than doubled, highlighting India’s rapidly expanding EV market.

Mahindra & Mahindra followed closely with 61,673 units, supported by continued demand for its SUV lineup. Hyundai Motor India delivered 58,777 units, benefiting from improved production and strong demand after a softer June.

Among other manufacturers, Toyota Kirloskar sold 36,439 units, while Kia India recorded 28,200 units, both posting healthy double-digit growth. Honda Cars India reported modest growth, whereas JSW MG Motor India nearly doubled its sales compared to the previous year. Volkswagen India and Renault India were the only major brands to register year-on-year declines during the month.

The record-breaking July performance indicates that India’s passenger vehicle market remains on a strong growth trajectory. Improved consumer sentiment, favourable government policies, expanding SUV and electric vehicle offerings, and stable economic conditions are expected to continue supporting demand in the coming months.

ಭಾರತದ ಪ್ರಯಾಣಿಕ ವಾಹನ (Passenger Vehicle - PV) ಉದ್ಯಮವು ಜುಲೈ 2026ರಲ್ಲಿ ತನ್ನ ಇತಿಹಾಸದಲ್ಲೇ ಅತ್ಯುತ್ತಮ ಮಾಸಿಕ ಸಾಧನೆಯನ್ನು ದಾಖಲಿಸಿದೆ. ಬಲವಾದ ಗ್ರಾಹಕ ಬೇಡಿಕೆ, ಜಿಎಸ್‌ಟಿ ದರ ಕಡಿತದಿಂದ ವಾಹನಗಳ ಬೆಲೆ ಕೈಗೆಟುಕುವಂತಾಗಿರುವುದು ಹಾಗೂ ಹೊಸ ಮಾದರಿಗಳ ನಿರಂತರ ಬಿಡುಗಡೆ ಈ ಬೆಳವಣಿಗೆಗೆ ಪ್ರಮುಖ ಕಾರಣಗಳಾಗಿವೆ. ಒಟ್ಟು 4.69 ಲಕ್ಷಕ್ಕೂ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಪ್ರಯಾಣಿಕ ವಾಹನಗಳು ತಯಾರಕರಿಂದ ವಿತರಿಸಲ್ಪಟ್ಟಿದ್ದು, ಇದು ಕಳೆದ ವರ್ಷದ ಇದೇ ಅವಧಿಗೆ ಹೋಲಿಸಿದರೆ 34% ವಾರ್ಷಿಕ ಬೆಳವಣಿಗೆ ದಾಖಲಿಸಿ ಹೊಸ ಮಾಸಿಕ ದಾಖಲೆಯನ್ನು ನಿರ್ಮಿಸಿದೆ.

ಮಾರುತಿ ಸುಜುಕಿ 2,00,123 ವಾಹನಗಳನ್ನು ಮಾರಾಟ ಮಾಡಿ ತನ್ನ ಅಗ್ರಸ್ಥಾನವನ್ನು ಮತ್ತೊಮ್ಮೆ ಕಾಯ್ದುಕೊಂಡಿದೆ. ಭಾರತದ ಇತಿಹಾಸದಲ್ಲಿ ಒಂದೇ ತಿಂಗಳಲ್ಲಿ 2 ಲಕ್ಷ ದೇಶೀಯ ಪ್ರಯಾಣಿಕ ವಾಹನಗಳ ಮಾರಾಟದ ಗಡಿಯನ್ನು ದಾಟಿದ ಮೊದಲ ವಾಹನ ತಯಾರಕ ಎಂಬ ಹೆಗ್ಗಳಿಕೆಯನ್ನು ಕಂಪನಿ ಪಡೆದಿದೆ. ಹ್ಯಾಚ್‌ಬ್ಯಾಕ್‌, ಎಸ್‌ಯುವಿ ಹಾಗೂ ಸಿಎನ್‌ಜಿ ಮಾದರಿಗಳ ಬಲವಾದ ಬೇಡಿಕೆ ಈ ಸಾಧನೆಗೆ ಪ್ರಮುಖ ಕಾರಣವಾಗಿದೆ.

ಟಾಟಾ ಮೋಟಾರ್ಸ್ 63,760 ವಾಹನಗಳ ಮಾರಾಟದೊಂದಿಗೆ ಎರಡನೇ ಸ್ಥಾನದಲ್ಲಿದ್ದು, ಪ್ರಮುಖ ತಯಾರಕರಲ್ಲಿ ಅತ್ಯಧಿಕವಾದ 59% ವಾರ್ಷಿಕ ಬೆಳವಣಿಗೆ ದಾಖಲಿಸಿದೆ. ಕಂಪನಿಯ ಎಲೆಕ್ಟ್ರಿಕ್ ವಾಹನಗಳ (EV) ಮಾರಾಟವೂ ಎರಡು ಪಟ್ಟು ಹೆಚ್ಚಾಗಿದ್ದು, ಭಾರತದಲ್ಲಿ ಎಲೆಕ್ಟ್ರಿಕ್ ವಾಹನಗಳ ಸ್ವೀಕಾರ ವೇಗವಾಗಿ ಹೆಚ್ಚುತ್ತಿರುವುದನ್ನು ಇದು ತೋರಿಸುತ್ತದೆ.

ಮಹೀಂದ್ರ & ಮಹೀಂದ್ರ 61,673 ವಾಹನಗಳ ಮಾರಾಟದೊಂದಿಗೆ ಮೂರನೇ ಸ್ಥಾನದಲ್ಲಿದ್ದು, ಅದರ ಎಸ್‌ಯುವಿ ಮಾದರಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಉತ್ತಮ ಬೇಡಿಕೆ ಮುಂದುವರಿದಿದೆ. ಹ್ಯುಂಡೈ ಮೋಟಾರ್ ಇಂಡಿಯಾ 58,777 ವಾಹನಗಳನ್ನು ಮಾರಾಟ ಮಾಡಿ, ಜೂನ್ ತಿಂಗಳಿಗಿಂತ ಉತ್ಪಾದನೆ ಹಾಗೂ ಬೇಡಿಕೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಉತ್ತಮ ಚೇತರಿಕೆ ಕಂಡಿದೆ.

ಇತರೆ ಪ್ರಮುಖ ತಯಾರಕರಲ್ಲಿ ಟೊಯೋಟಾ ಕಿರ್ಲೋಸ್ಕರ್ 36,439 ವಾಹನಗಳು ಹಾಗೂ ಕಿಯಾ ಇಂಡಿಯಾ 28,200 ವಾಹನಗಳನ್ನು ಮಾರಾಟ ಮಾಡಿ ದ್ವಿಅಂಕಿಯ ಬೆಳವಣಿಗೆಯನ್ನು ದಾಖಲಿಸಿವೆ. ಹೋಂಡಾ ಕಾರ್ಸ್ ಇಂಡಿಯಾ ಸಾಧಾರಣ ಬೆಳವಣಿಗೆ ಕಂಡರೆ, ಜೆಎಸ್‌ಡಬ್ಲ್ಯು ಎಂಜಿ ಮೋಟಾರ್ ಇಂಡಿಯಾ ತನ್ನ ಮಾರಾಟವನ್ನು ಕಳೆದ ವರ್ಷದಿಗಿಂತ ಸುಮಾರು ದ್ವಿಗುಣಗೊಳಿಸಿದೆ. ವೋಕ್ಸ್‌ವ್ಯಾಗನ್ ಇಂಡಿಯಾ ಮತ್ತು ರೆನಾಲ್ಟ್ ಇಂಡಿಯಾ ಮಾತ್ರ ವರ್ಷದಿಂದ ವರ್ಷಕ್ಕೆ ಮಾರಾಟದಲ್ಲಿ ಕುಸಿತ ದಾಖಲಿಸಿದ ಪ್ರಮುಖ ಬ್ರ್ಯಾಂಡ್‌ಗಳಾಗಿವೆ.
