JSW MG Motor Unveils ADAPT: India’s First Multi-Energy Vehicle Platform

JSW MG Motor India has unveiled MG ADAPT (Advance Drive Architecture Platform Technology), describing it as India’s first modular multi-New Energy Vehicle (NEV) platform. Designed to support multiple electrified powertrains on a single architecture, ADAPT marks a significant step in MG’s strategy to offer customers greater flexibility as India’s automotive market transitions towards cleaner mobility.

Unlike conventional vehicle platforms built around a single propulsion system, MG ADAPT can accommodate Battery Electric Vehicles (EVs), Hybrid Electric Vehicles (HEVs), Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicles (PHEVs), and Range Extender Electric Vehicles (REEVs). This modular approach allows the company to develop different vehicle types using a common platform, reducing engineering complexity while improving manufacturing efficiency.

The platform integrates a dedicated hybrid engine, advanced battery system, a 10-in-1 intelligent electric drive unit, and an electromagnetic hybrid transmission. Its intelligent energy management system automatically switches between Pure Electric Drive, Series Hybrid Drive, Parallel Hybrid Drive, and Engine Direct Drive, optimising efficiency according to driving conditions. In REEV applications, the petrol engine functions only as a generator to recharge the battery, while the electric motor continues to power the wheels.

According to JSW MG Motor, ADAPT has been engineered to deliver improved driving range, faster charging capability, enhanced performance, better safety, and lower development costs. The company has also confirmed that its first EV and first Plug-in Hybrid based on the ADAPT platform will be launched during FY2026-27, expanding its portfolio of electrified vehicles for the Indian market.

The introduction of ADAPT reflects a growing industry trend towards flexible vehicle architectures that can support multiple energy technologies. As consumer preferences evolve and charging infrastructure continues to develop, such platforms enable manufacturers to respond quickly to market demand without designing separate platforms for each powertrain. For India, where EV adoption, hybrids, and alternative fuel technologies are expected to coexist for several years, MG’s multi-energy strategy could provide a practical pathway towards cleaner and more efficient mobility.

ಒಂದೇ ರೀತಿಯ ಪವರ್‌ಟ್ರೇನ್‌ಗೆ ಮಾತ್ರ ವಿನ್ಯಾಸಗೊಳಿಸಲಾದ ಸಾಂಪ್ರದಾಯಿಕ ವಾಹನ ವೇದಿಕೆಗಳಿಗಿಂತ ಭಿನ್ನವಾಗಿ, MG ADAPT ಬ್ಯಾಟರಿ ಎಲೆಕ್ಟ್ರಿಕ್ ವಾಹನಗಳು (EV), ಹೈಬ್ರಿಡ್ ಎಲೆಕ್ಟ್ರಿಕ್ ವಾಹನಗಳು (HEV), ಪ್ಲಗ್-ಇನ್ ಹೈಬ್ರಿಡ್ ಎಲೆಕ್ಟ್ರಿಕ್ ವಾಹನಗಳು (PHEV) ಹಾಗೂ ರೇಂಜ್ ಎಕ್ಸ್‌ಟೆಂಡರ್ ಎಲೆಕ್ಟ್ರಿಕ್ ವಾಹನಗಳು (REEV) ಸೇರಿದಂತೆ ಹಲವು ತಂತ್ರಜ್ಞಾನಗಳಿಗೆ ಬೆಂಬಲ ನೀಡುತ್ತದೆ. ಈ ಮಾಡ್ಯುಲರ್ ವಿನ್ಯಾಸದ ಮೂಲಕ ಒಂದೇ ವೇದಿಕೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ವಿವಿಧ ಮಾದರಿಯ ವಾಹನಗಳನ್ನು ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿಪಡಿಸಲು ಸಾಧ್ಯವಾಗುವುದರಿಂದ ಎಂಜಿನಿಯರಿಂಗ್ ಸಂಕೀರ್ಣತೆ ಕಡಿಮೆಯಾಗುತ್ತದೆ ಹಾಗೂ ಉತ್ಪಾದನಾ ದಕ್ಷತೆ ಹೆಚ್ಚುತ್ತದೆ.

ಈ ವೇದಿಕೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ವಿಶೇಷ ಹೈಬ್ರಿಡ್ ಎಂಜಿನ್, ಸುಧಾರಿತ ಬ್ಯಾಟರಿ ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥೆ, 10-ಇನ್-1 ಇಂಟೆಲಿಜೆಂಟ್ ಎಲೆಕ್ಟ್ರಿಕ್ ಡ್ರೈವ್ ಯುನಿಟ್ ಹಾಗೂ ಎಲೆಕ್ಟ್ರೋಮ್ಯಾಗ್ನೆಟಿಕ್ ಹೈಬ್ರಿಡ್ ಟ್ರಾನ್ಸ್‌ಮಿಷನ್ ಅನ್ನು ಅಳವಡಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ. ಇದರ ಬುದ್ಧಿವಂತ ಶಕ್ತಿ ನಿರ್ವಹಣಾ ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥೆಯು ಚಾಲನಾ ಪರಿಸ್ಥಿತಿಗೆ ಅನುಗುಣವಾಗಿ ಪ್ಯೂರ್ ಎಲೆಕ್ಟ್ರಿಕ್ ಡ್ರೈವ್, ಸೀರೀಸ್ ಹೈಬ್ರಿಡ್ ಡ್ರೈವ್, ಪ್ಯಾರಲೆಲ್ ಹೈಬ್ರಿಡ್ ಡ್ರೈವ್ ಮತ್ತು ಎಂಜಿನ್ ಡೈರೆಕ್ಟ್ ಡ್ರೈವ್ ನಡುವೆ ಸ್ವಯಂಚಾಲಿತವಾಗಿ ಬದಲಾಯಿಸಿ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ಷಮತೆಯನ್ನು ಹೆಚ್ಚಿಸುತ್ತದೆ. REEV ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಪೆಟ್ರೋಲ್ ಎಂಜಿನ್ ವಾಹನವನ್ನು ನೇರವಾಗಿ ಚಲಾಯಿಸುವುದಿಲ್ಲ; ಅದು ಕೇವಲ ಬ್ಯಾಟರಿಯನ್ನು ಮರುಚಾರ್ಜ್ ಮಾಡುವ ಜನರೇಟರ್ ಆಗಿ ಕಾರ್ಯನಿರ್ವಹಿಸುತ್ತದೆ. ವಾಹನವನ್ನು ಚಲಾಯಿಸುವ ಜವಾಬ್ದಾರಿ ಸಂಪೂರ್ಣವಾಗಿ ಎಲೆಕ್ಟ್ರಿಕ್ ಮೋಟರ್‌ನದ್ದೇ ಆಗಿರುತ್ತದೆ.

JSW MG ಮೋಟಾರ್‌ನ ಪ್ರಕಾರ, ADAPT ವೇದಿಕೆಯನ್ನು ಹೆಚ್ಚಿನ ಚಾಲನಾ ವ್ಯಾಪ್ತಿ, ವೇಗವಾದ ಚಾರ್ಜಿಂಗ್, ಉತ್ತಮ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ಷಮತೆ, ಹೆಚ್ಚಿದ ಸುರಕ್ಷತೆ ಹಾಗೂ ಕಡಿಮೆ ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿ ವೆಚ್ಚವನ್ನು ಗಮನದಲ್ಲಿಟ್ಟುಕೊಂಡು ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿಪಡಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ. ಇದೇ ವೇದಿಕೆಯನ್ನು ಆಧರಿಸಿದ ತನ್ನ ಮೊದಲ ಎಲೆಕ್ಟ್ರಿಕ್ ವಾಹನ (EV) ಹಾಗೂ ಮೊದಲ ಪ್ಲಗ್-ಇನ್ ಹೈಬ್ರಿಡ್ ವಾಹನ (PHEV) ಅನ್ನು FY2026-27ರಲ್ಲಿ ಭಾರತದಲ್ಲಿ ಬಿಡುಗಡೆ ಮಾಡುವುದಾಗಿ ಕಂಪನಿ ಘೋಷಿಸಿದೆ.

ADAPT ಪರಿಚಯವು ಒಂದೇ ವೇದಿಕೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಹಲವು ಇಂಧನ ತಂತ್ರಜ್ಞಾನಗಳಿಗೆ ಬೆಂಬಲ ನೀಡುವ ಲವಚಿಕ ವಾಹನ ವಿನ್ಯಾಸಗಳತ್ತ ಜಾಗತಿಕ ವಾಹನ ಉದ್ಯಮ ಸಾಗುತ್ತಿರುವ ಪ್ರವೃತ್ತಿಯನ್ನು ಪ್ರತಿಬಿಂಬಿಸುತ್ತದೆ. ಗ್ರಾಹಕರ ಬೇಡಿಕೆ ಮತ್ತು ಚಾರ್ಜಿಂಗ್ ಮೂಲಸೌಕರ್ಯ ವೇಗವಾಗಿ ಬೆಳೆಯುತ್ತಿರುವ ಸಂದರ್ಭದಲ್ಲಿ, ಇಂತಹ ವೇದಿಕೆಗಳು ಪ್ರತಿಯೊಂದು ಪವರ್‌ಟ್ರೇನ್‌ಗೆ ಪ್ರತ್ಯೇಕ ವೇದಿಕೆಗಳನ್ನು ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿಪಡಿಸದೇ ಮಾರುಕಟ್ಟೆಯ ಅಗತ್ಯಗಳಿಗೆ ತ್ವರಿತವಾಗಿ ಸ್ಪಂದಿಸಲು ವಾಹನ ತಯಾರಕರಿಗೆ ನೆರವಾಗುತ್ತವೆ. ಎಲೆಕ್ಟ್ರಿಕ್ ವಾಹನಗಳು, ಹೈಬ್ರಿಡ್‌ಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ಪರ್ಯಾಯ ಇಂಧನ ತಂತ್ರಜ್ಞಾನಗಳು ಇನ್ನೂ ಹಲವು ವರ್ಷಗಳ ಕಾಲ ಒಟ್ಟಿಗೆ ಅಸ್ತಿತ್ವದಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಭಾರತದಂತಹ ಮಾರುಕಟ್ಟೆಯಲ್ಲಿ, MGಯ ಬಹು-ಇಂಧನ ತಂತ್ರವು ಸ್ವಚ್ಛ, ದಕ್ಷ ಮತ್ತು ಸುಸ್ಥಿರ ಸಂಚಾರದತ್ತ ಮಹತ್ವದ ದಾರಿಯನ್ನು ತೆರೆದಿಡುವ ಸಾಧ್ಯತೆಯಿದೆ.
