India Waives Excise Duty on Higher Ethanol Petrol

The Indian government has exempted petrol blended with 22%–30% ethanol (E22–E30) from central excise duty. The move aims to make higher ethanol fuels more affordable and accelerate ethanol adoption across the country.

Higher ethanol blends could become cheaper, but vehicles must be compatible with these fuels. Older vehicles may not be suitable for E25–E30 blends.

ಭಾರತ ಸರ್ಕಾರವು E22 ರಿಂದ E30 (22%–30% ಎಥನಾಲ್) ಮಿಶ್ರಿತ ಪೆಟ್ರೋಲ್ ಮೇಲಿನ ಕೇಂದ್ರ ಅಬಕಾರಿ ಸುಂಕವನ್ನು ರದ್ದುಗೊಳಿಸಿದೆ. ಇದರ ಮೂಲಕ ಹೆಚ್ಚಿನ ಎಥನಾಲ್ ಮಿಶ್ರಿತ ಇಂಧನವನ್ನು ಕಡಿಮೆ ಬೆಲೆಗೆ ಲಭ್ಯವಾಗುವಂತೆ ಮಾಡಿ, ದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ಎಥನಾಲ್ ಬಳಕೆಯನ್ನು ಉತ್ತೇಜಿಸುವ ಉದ್ದೇಶ ಹೊಂದಿದೆ.

ವಾಹನ ಮಾಲೀಕರಿಗೆ ಪರಿಣಾಮ:

E22–E30 ಇಂಧನವು ಕಡಿಮೆ ಬೆಲೆಗೆ ಲಭ್ಯವಾಗುವ ಸಾಧ್ಯತೆ ಇದೆ. ಆದರೆ ಇಂತಹ ಇಂಧನ ಬಳಸಲು ವಾಹನಗಳು ಹೊಂದಾಣಿಕೆಯಾಗಿರಬೇಕು. ಹಳೆಯ ವಾಹನಗಳು ಹೆಚ್ಚಿನ ಎಥನಾಲ್ ಮಿಶ್ರಣಕ್ಕೆ ಸೂಕ್ತವಾಗಿರದೇ ಇರಬಹುದು.
