India’s Two-Wheeler Retail Sales: May 2026

India’s two-wheeler retail market recorded sales of approximately 18.45 lakh units in May 2026, registering a healthy 7.5% year-on-year growth. The increase was driven by improving rural demand, replacement purchases and continued preference for personal mobility.

Hero MotoCorp retained its position as the market leader, supported by strong demand for commuter motorcycles. Honda remained in second place with the Activa and Shine continuing to attract buyers. TVS Motor gained market share through strong sales of the Jupiter, Raider and Apache range.

In the premium segment, Yamaha maintained steady growth, while Ather Energy emerged as one of the fastest-growing electric two-wheeler brands, reflecting rising EV adoption across the country.

Industry experts expect demand to remain strong in the coming months, supported by a favorable monsoon forecast, higher rural incomes and the upcoming festive season. With retail volumes nearing 1.85 million units in a single month, India’s two-wheeler industry continues to be a key driver of the nation’s automotive market.

ಭಾರತದ ದ್ವಿಚಕ್ರ ವಾಹನ ಚಿಲ್ಲರೆ ಮಾರುಕಟ್ಟೆಯು ಮೇ 2026ರಲ್ಲಿ ಸುಮಾರು 18.45 ಲಕ್ಷ ಯೂನಿಟ್‌ಗಳ ಮಾರಾಟ ದಾಖಲಿಸಿದ್ದು, ಕಳೆದ ವರ್ಷದ ಇದೇ ಅವಧಿಗೆ ಹೋಲಿಸಿದರೆ 7.5% ಬೆಳವಣಿಗೆ ಸಾಧಿಸಿದೆ. ಗ್ರಾಮೀಣ ಪ್ರದೇಶಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಬೇಡಿಕೆ ಹೆಚ್ಚಳ, ಹಳೆಯ ವಾಹನಗಳ ಬದಲಾವಣೆ ಖರೀದಿಗಳು ಹಾಗೂ ವೈಯಕ್ತಿಕ ಸಂಚಾರದ ಮೇಲಿನ ನಿರಂತರ ಒಲವು ಈ ಬೆಳವಣಿಗೆಗೆ ಪ್ರಮುಖ ಕಾರಣಗಳಾಗಿವೆ.

ಹೀರೋ ಮೋಟೋಕಾರ್ಪ್ ತನ್ನ ಮಾರುಕಟ್ಟೆ ನಾಯಕತ್ವವನ್ನು ಉಳಿಸಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದು, ಕಮ್ಯೂಟರ್ ಮೋಟಾರ್‌ಸೈಕಲ್‌ಗಳ ಮೇಲಿನ ಬಲವಾದ ಬೇಡಿಕೆ ಇದಕ್ಕೆ ನೆರವಾಗಿದೆ. ಹೋಂಡಾ ತನ್ನ ಆಕ್ಟಿವಾ ಮತ್ತು ಶೈನ್ ಮಾದರಿಗಳ ಜನಪ್ರಿಯತೆಯಿಂದ ಎರಡನೇ ಸ್ಥಾನವನ್ನು ಕಾಯ್ದುಕೊಂಡಿದೆ. ಟಿವಿಎಸ್ ಮೋಟಾರ್ ತನ್ನ ಜ್ಯುಪಿಟರ್, ರೈಡರ್ ಮತ್ತು ಅಪಾಚೆ ಸರಣಿಗಳ ಉತ್ತಮ ಮಾರಾಟದ ಮೂಲಕ ಮಾರುಕಟ್ಟೆ ಪಾಲನ್ನು ಹೆಚ್ಚಿಸಿಕೊಂಡಿದೆ.

ಪ್ರೀಮಿಯಂ ವಿಭಾಗದಲ್ಲಿ ಯಮಹಾ ಸ್ಥಿರ ಬೆಳವಣಿಗೆಯನ್ನು ದಾಖಲಿಸಿದರೆ, ಆಥರ್ ಎನರ್ಜಿ ದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ವಿದ್ಯುತ್ ದ್ವಿಚಕ್ರ ವಾಹನಗಳ ಸ್ವೀಕಾರ ಹೆಚ್ಚುತ್ತಿರುವ ಹಿನ್ನೆಲೆ ವೇಗವಾಗಿ ಬೆಳೆಯುತ್ತಿರುವ ಇವಿ ಬ್ರ್ಯಾಂಡ್‌ಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಒಂದಾಗಿ ಹೊರಹೊಮ್ಮಿದೆ.

ಉತ್ತಮ ಮುಂಗಾರು ನಿರೀಕ್ಷೆ, ಗ್ರಾಮೀಣ ಆದಾಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಏರಿಕೆ ಹಾಗೂ ಮುಂಬರುವ ಹಬ್ಬದ ಋತುವಿನ ಬೇಡಿಕೆಯ ಬೆಂಬಲದಿಂದ ಮುಂದಿನ ತಿಂಗಳುಗಳಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಮಾರಾಟ ಬಲವಾಗಿರಲಿದೆ ಎಂದು ತಜ್ಞರು ನಿರೀಕ್ಷಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಒಂದೇ ತಿಂಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಸುಮಾರು 18.45 ಲಕ್ಷ ಯೂನಿಟ್‌ಗಳ ಚಿಲ್ಲರೆ ಮಾರಾಟ ದಾಖಲಿಸಿರುವ ಭಾರತದ ದ್ವಿಚಕ್ರ ವಾಹನ ಉದ್ಯಮವು ದೇಶದ ವಾಹನ ಮಾರುಕಟ್ಟೆಯ ಪ್ರಮುಖ ಬೆಳವಣಿಗೆಯ ಚಾಲಕವಾಗಿಯೇ ಮುಂದುವರಿದಿದೆ.
