Maruti Suzuki Opens Fourth Manufacturing Plant at Kharkhoda

Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi have jointly inaugurated Maruti Suzuki India’s fourth vehicle manufacturing facility at IMT Kharkhoda, Haryana, marking a major milestone for India’s automotive manufacturing sector. The inauguration took place during the India–Japan Joint Economic Forum, highlighting the strong industrial partnership between the two countries.

Spread across nearly 800 acres, the Kharkhoda facility has been developed with an integrated supplier park and advanced manufacturing technologies. The plant currently has an annual production capacity of 5 lakh vehicles, which will be expanded to 10 lakh vehicles at full scale, making it one of the world’s largest automobile manufacturing facilities.

Maruti Suzuki has committed a total investment of around ₹35,000 crore for the project. Once fully operational, the facility is expected to generate more than 21,000 direct jobs, while also creating significant employment across the supplier ecosystem, logistics and ancillary industries.

The Kharkhoda plant has been designed around Suzuki’s Smart Factory concept, incorporating advanced automation, AI-assisted manufacturing and Industry 5.0 technologies to improve production efficiency, quality and workplace safety.

The new facility is a key part of Maruti Suzuki’s long-term strategy to increase its annual production capacity to 40 lakh vehicles. It will support rising domestic demand, strengthen exports under the “Make in India, Make for the World” initiative and further establish India as a global automobile manufacturing hub.

ಪ್ರಧಾನಮಂತ್ರಿ ನರೇಂದ್ರ ಮೋದಿ ಮತ್ತು ಜಪಾನ್‌ನ ಪ್ರಧಾನಮಂತ್ರಿ ಸಾನೆ ಟಕೈಚಿ ಅವರು ಹರಿಯಾಣದ ಐಎಂಟಿ ಖಾರ್ಖೋಡಾದಲ್ಲಿ ಮಾರೂತಿ ಸುಜುಕಿ ಇಂಡಿಯಾದ ನಾಲ್ಕನೇ ವಾಹನ ಉತ್ಪಾದನಾ ಘಟಕವನ್ನು ಸಂಯುಕ್ತವಾಗಿ ಉದ್ಘಾಟಿಸಿದರು. ಈ ಘಟಕದ ಉದ್ಘಾಟನೆಯು ಭಾರತದ ವಾಹನ ಉತ್ಪಾದನಾ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರಕ್ಕೆ ಮಹತ್ವದ ಮೈಲಿಗಲ್ಲಾಗಿದ್ದು, ಭಾರತ–ಜಪಾನ್ ಕೈಗಾರಿಕಾ ಸಹಭಾಗಿತ್ವವನ್ನು ಮತ್ತಷ್ಟು ಬಲಪಡಿಸುವ ಹೆಜ್ಜೆಯಾಗಿದೆ.

ಸುಮಾರು 800 ಏಕರೆ ಪ್ರದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ನಿರ್ಮಿಸಲಾದ ಖಾರ್ಖೋಡಾ ಘಟಕವು ಸಮಗ್ರ ಸರಬರಾಜುದಾರರ ಪಾರ್ಕ್ ಹಾಗೂ ಅತ್ಯಾಧುನಿಕ ಉತ್ಪಾದನಾ ತಂತ್ರಜ್ಞಾನಗಳನ್ನು ಒಳಗೊಂಡಿದೆ. ಪ್ರಸ್ತುತ ಈ ಘಟಕವು ವಾರ್ಷಿಕ 5 ಲಕ್ಷ ವಾಹನಗಳನ್ನು ಉತ್ಪಾದಿಸುವ ಸಾಮರ್ಥ್ಯ ಹೊಂದಿದ್ದು, ಪೂರ್ಣ ಪ್ರಮಾಣದಲ್ಲಿ ಕಾರ್ಯನಿರ್ವಹಿಸಿದ ಬಳಿಕ ಈ ಸಾಮರ್ಥ್ಯವನ್ನು 10 ಲಕ್ಷ ವಾಹನಗಳಿಗೆ ಹೆಚ್ಚಿಸಲಾಗುತ್ತದೆ. ಇದರಿಂದ ಇದು ವಿಶ್ವದ ಅತಿದೊಡ್ಡ ವಾಹನ ಉತ್ಪಾದನಾ ಘಟಕಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಒಂದಾಗಿ ಹೊರಹೊಮ್ಮಲಿದೆ.

ಈ ಯೋಜನೆಗಾಗಿ ಮಾರೂತಿ ಸುಜುಕಿ ಸುಮಾರು ₹35,000 ಕೋಟಿ ಹೂಡಿಕೆ ಮಾಡಿದೆ. ಘಟಕವು ಸಂಪೂರ್ಣವಾಗಿ ಕಾರ್ಯಾರಂಭಿಸಿದ ಬಳಿಕ 21,000ಕ್ಕೂ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ನೇರ ಉದ್ಯೋಗಗಳನ್ನು ಸೃಷ್ಟಿಸುವ ನಿರೀಕ್ಷೆಯಿದ್ದು, ಜೊತೆಗೆ ಸರಬರಾಜು ಜಾಲ, ಲಾಜಿಸ್ಟಿಕ್ಸ್ ಹಾಗೂ ಪೂರಕ ಕೈಗಾರಿಕೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಸಾವಿರಾರು ಪರೋಕ್ಷ ಉದ್ಯೋಗಗಳಿಗೂ ಅವಕಾಶ ಕಲ್ಪಿಸಲಿದೆ.

ಖಾರ್ಖೋಡಾ ಘಟಕವನ್ನು ಸುಜುಕಿ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಯ ಸ್ಮಾರ್ಟ್ ಫ್ಯಾಕ್ಟರಿ ಪರಿಕಲ್ಪನೆಯಡಿ ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿಪಡಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ. ಇದರಲ್ಲಿ ಸುಧಾರಿತ ಸ್ವಯಂಚಾಲಿತ ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥೆಗಳು, ಕೃತಕ ಬುದ್ಧಿಮತ್ತೆ (AI) ಆಧಾರಿತ ಉತ್ಪಾದನಾ ತಂತ್ರಜ್ಞಾನ ಹಾಗೂ ಇಂಡಸ್ಟ್ರಿ 5.0 ತಂತ್ರಜ್ಞಾನಗಳನ್ನು ಅಳವಡಿಸಲಾಗಿದ್ದು, ಉತ್ಪಾದನಾ ದಕ್ಷತೆ, ಗುಣಮಟ್ಟ ಮತ್ತು ಕಾರ್ಮಿಕರ ಸುರಕ್ಷತೆಯನ್ನು ಮತ್ತಷ್ಟು ಹೆಚ್ಚಿಸುವ ಉದ್ದೇಶ ಹೊಂದಿದೆ.

ಈ ಹೊಸ ಘಟಕವು ಮಾರೂತಿ ಸುಜುಕಿಯ ವಾರ್ಷಿಕ ಉತ್ಪಾದನಾ ಸಾಮರ್ಥ್ಯವನ್ನು 40 ಲಕ್ಷ ವಾಹನಗಳಿಗೆ ಹೆಚ್ಚಿಸುವ ದೀರ್ಘಕಾಲೀನ ಯೋಜನೆಯ ಪ್ರಮುಖ ಭಾಗವಾಗಿದೆ. ಇದು ದೇಶೀಯ ಬೇಡಿಕೆಯನ್ನು ಪೂರೈಸುವುದರ ಜೊತೆಗೆ ವಾಹನ ರಫ್ತನ್ನು ಮತ್ತಷ್ಟು ಬಲಪಡಿಸಿ, “ಮೇಕ್ ಇನ್ ಇಂಡಿಯಾ, ಮೇಕ್ ಫಾರ್ ದ ವರ್ಲ್ಡ್” ಅಭಿಯಾನಕ್ಕೆ ಉತ್ತೇಜನ ನೀಡುವ ಮೂಲಕ ಭಾರತವನ್ನು ಜಾಗತಿಕ ವಾಹನ ಉತ್ಪಾದನಾ ಕೇಂದ್ರವನ್ನಾಗಿ ರೂಪಿಸುವಲ್ಲಿ ಮಹತ್ವದ ಪಾತ್ರ ವಹಿಸಲಿದೆ.
